I really need to change the name of this blog. It's not so much life in Sand Creek anymore as it is like in Hammond. I go to college in Hammond now. I have to say that it's pretty great. I can learn without all the annoying people and things that I found back in elementary school and high school. There is no more clicks. You just see hundreds of people everywhere. Some of them make you curious while others seem to make you feel strange. Honestly, people are just nice in college. I can honestly say that I haven't ran into a single person who was rude to me.
My friend call me the curve breaker. Apparently, people really didn't learn anything in high school either that or I am a heck of a lot smarter than I thought I was. It's really simple in college. You literally only have to do a couple of things: go to class, do assignments, and take notes. If you do all of things, you should have a decent understanding of whatever class your in. I thought about doing some tutoring, but I'm not so sure that I should do it now. I am told that I have a habit of getting annoyed when the person I am tutoring doesn't understand what I am telling them. I'll get better I promise. I just got to remember that not everyone got good math teachers.
I am proud to say that my room mate does not suck. I have no idea how I got such a cool room mate. It's nice when you live with someone who is as laid back as you. She's pretty studious, she's shorter than me!! You have no idea how rare that is. I do not understand how I could be so short. My dad is like 6.1ft or somethings like that. Weird.

Topic of Your Choice!
So as of today I have only six days left of school. This rots because for the first time ever, I have caught that whole I'm done thing. I'm probably not as bad as other people but I can tell you that I'm here anymore in certain classes. It's mostly art though. She has explained the same things five times now. I would have been bored if I didn't have questions to write answers for for sociology. I have two big things due this week. My sociology experiment and my Weebly for exploring tech. I've always liked this class even though it drove me nuts that I always did something wrong on almost everything I turned in. Tomorrow, I am taking the first part of my exam for this class. It shouldn't be to bad.Plus, it means that I won't have so much to study on Tuesday. I think that the exam schedule here is absolutely silly. Seriously, who wants to take 4 exams in one day. At my old school it was either 1,3,3 or 2,2,3. I think that it works much better that way even though it requires students to take exams sooner. I'm so tired.

Cinco De Mayo!
Cinco De Mayo is Spanish for the fifth of May. This day commemorates the day the Mexican militia was victorious over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862 . It is celebrated throughout the state of Puebla in Mexico. There is limited recognition in other parts of Mexico and in the U.S. It is probably not worthy becoming of a national holiday since like mentioned before it is not recognized out of Puebla.
Today is also National No Homework Day. It was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy. This National day sounds awesome. I plan on spending National No Homework Day by not doing my homework if I get any.

Prom!
I really don't care that much about Prom. I went to prom last year and I didn't like it all. The tickets were overpriced and I was bored and wanted to leave. The only reason I went was because despite the fact that I am no girly girl, I wanted to dress up for my boyfriend. I did like my dress though. It was a beautiful long dark blue dress. It made my curves look good. Besides that, I didn't like Prom all that much. I have never went to an After Prom. It sounds strange. It is not super important for me to go to Prom, even if it is my senior year.

Earth Day!
Earth Day is a day we celebrate the Earth. It's a day to remember that it is up to us to take care of our precious Earth. I have never participated in any Earth day activities. Three interesting facts about Earth day are: it began in 1970 as a nationwide protest, there are actually two Earth day, and April 22nd was designated to be International Mother Earth Day in 2009. Today we should be doing activities that will promote global environment awareness and help prevent pollution of every kind. But there are simple things we can do like plant a tree and recycle. If we did these on a regular biases the world would be a better place.

Violence on TV!
The amount of violence on TV is ridiculous. At times it just seems like there is too much violence on. I think that those types of shows should be on later in the night because then the younger people won't necessarily accidentally stumble upon them. I don't watch any TV shows that are really violent. TV shows tend to have a lot of violence because they are meant for older viewers who like to watch violence. There are a lot of people who are entertained by violence.
I haven't actually seen this show, but my dad says that there is a lot violence in it. It's a show about a criminal and a gang that is always out to get him. This show would be appropriate for 18 and up.

Spring Break!
I'm going to pick that first Saturday of Spring Break. We had some friends coming down from New York to visit us for Easter. We spent all Saturday morning cleaning. I had to clean my room and everything. Once the house was clean, I spent the rest of the day waiting for two things: Doctor Who and for our guests to arrive. They happened at the same time. It was not cool. We visited for a while and then we decided to order Chinese which is a rarity in my house. I had the Lo Mein Chicken, the Hot n' Sour Soup, and some crab stuff. It was all so just so good. Then I finally got to watch Doctor Who which was awesome. I spent the rest of the night watching television and playing with Colton. Then I went to bed.

Topic of your Choice!
Today is one of these rare days where I can blog about whatever I choose. It's nice when this happens because then I'm not constricted when I blog. Today I shall blog about my green fingers. For the past couple days in art we have been working on an art project involving oil pastels. These make my fingers all green and get all over the sleeve of my jacket. It's so not cool. Because I keep having these green fingers, I am forced to skip out on pretzels in third hour which rots because I am always hungry during that hour. I don't have time to wash my hands because my third hour class is on the third floor. The irony of it all. So am stuck with green fingers all day till lunch. I feel so green.

Cheaters Never Win
If I ever saw a friend cheat, I would not rat them out. I am a loyal friend, not a rat. But, I would also discourage them from doing that. Cheating is for losers who do not study. I would volunteer to help them study for tests. I would try to help them out. Cheating is just not cool and never will be cool.

Testing Testing Testing!
I've never really liked testing all that much. It seems like we're tested on everything. We're not only tested in education though. We are constantly being test throughout life. It's a real pain. Education relies heavily on testing. We write papers to test our writing skills. We read books to test our reading skills. Tests are everywhere. It would be nice if there weren't any tests but we need test to show that all this stuff we are forced to do in school isn't for nothing. Teachers would only know that we grasped the concepts by how well we participate and show understanding in class. I don't like taking standardize tests. They are way too long for there own good. Luckily, I'm a good test taker. There is probably no fair standardize test. I have a 27 on the ACT. I'm still trying to improve it though. The people who claim to not do well on tests either don't know anything or does not like the format if you ask me.

Top Four
The top four most important things in my life are: my grades, my friends, my family, and God. My grades are important to me because I feel a compulsive need to have good grades and it helps with scholarships and college. When I say my friends, I mean mostly my friend Alex. For as long as I have known him he has always ha my back and has been loyal to me through thick and thin. I think that it is important to maintain relationships because it makes me happy. My family is important to because it has to be. They are my family. Even though they sometimes drive me mad, they are the people who will take care of me on the worst of days. God is important to me to even though I don't put the most effort into my religion. God gives me something to believe in an hope that there is some good in this crazy messed up world.

Charity Event!
If I had an extra 100,000 to give away, I would give it to the ASPCA. It is so sad to hear about all of the animals who get abused. Plus, those commercials kill me everytime. The hardest thing to look at is a sad, scared, and lonely dog. Some of these animals they find are in the worst condition. Some are practically straved to death while others are severely beaten. It is good to find these animals and get them away from these harmful enviroments.

I Want Out of Here!
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, I would be at a beach. I love snow to death but I hate the cold. The cold makes me turn blue and purple. I love going to the beach because of the hot and the waves in the ocean. I like to boogie board on them, even though I'm not very good at it. I went to the beach last June with a good friend of mine. We spent a whole week out there. It was nice because it actually didn't feel hot outside. It was extremely windy though. We had trouble setting up the tents a few times. I got so sore from walking in that sand all day. I also got some bad sunburn. I could barely move after the second day. It did get better though. I just need to limit my time walking in the sand and put sunblock on more often. It was a bit of a hassle but it was better than staying inside all week. I really enjoyed that week in the sun. The heat of sunlight on my skin always feels nice.

Bug Out
If I was an insect that I would be a preying mantis. They are so cool. It is fun to watch them when the eat. They will be so still when they hunt and then all of the sudden they will grab their prey. They are also able to camouflage themselves among leaves and branches. I would want to be one of these because they are the predator and not the prey most of the time. I would also want to be one because they look so cool.

Travel Anywhere!
If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Wicklow National Park. It's a beautiful national park in Ireland. I saw part of it in a movie once. I want to go there because I found the landscape breath-taking and I really wanted to go see it for myself. It is covered and flowers and has a beautiful view of some mountains. I think that it would be cool to go to a place like this.Monday, January 7, 2013
Vacation Time!
I enjoyed my time off from school over the holidays this year. I went to my grandparents house over that first weekend of break. We mostly chilled at the house and went shopping. We had to go to church on Christmas eve. It was giving a beautiful snow but we were having trouble finding a church open for midnight mass. We went to like 5 different churches before we found one holding midnight mass. We went home on Christmas day. It was a long drive home but we made it back about 6. We didn't have a very big Christmas this year but I enjoyed the few presents that I got. I got a new shirt, pj pants, a gift basket, a new ihome, and etc. On Thursday, I went to go pick up a friend of mine from the airport. I was nervous to see him I hadn't seen him in months. He showed up dressed as the Doctor. We hung out at the house for most of the visit. We played a bunch of video games on the playstation. We went out to Golden Wok for dinner on Saturday. The hot 'n sour soup was amazing. We bought a sled so that Alex could go sledding. He found out why I was wiping out so much. We went bowling a bunch of times too. We missed the dropping of the ball on New Year's eve. His computer still had central time on it. I didn't make any New Year resolutions this year. Even if I would have though, I wouldn't have kept them. He had to leave on the 2nd. I wish that he could have stayed longer, but he booked the flight based on his school calendar which was not updated. I didn't do anything those last few days.
